I am mindlessly tickled by the detail than an old name for Strathclyde is Alt Clud.
I might have silly fun telling people to press ALT CLUD in Windows. CLUD has to be Control–Left–Up–Delete. Pressing ALT CLUD tells computers monitoring yours to reboot, which, in consequence, makes them stop being quite so nosy.
I believe it was chosen because, in ancient times, it was the warriors from Alt Clud who kept the English / Romans / Vikings / Japanese / Klingons (please select appropriate nasty invader) out of Scotland.
