Here’s another elderly base, ‘Crowland’, but this one still exists; indeed, it’s my oldest surviving base (at the time of writing). It even predates my habit of building bases on portals. It’s in Hilbert.

It’s named for the small Lincolnshire town, with a three–legged bridge, admittedly a far more impressive three–legged bridge, the famous Trinity Bridge.

I don’t see the base lasting much longer. It’s only survived because I cultivate frosties here, and they’re useful—or, at least, they were useful when I was building out bases at the centre of (almost) every galaxy. So much glass! Now that’s done, I’ve much less need for them. I suspect that as I continue developing a few show bases, I may again be challanged by the absolute limit on the number of parts in the game, in which case deleting this base would release rather a lot of such resources.
