I’ve decided to try baking. My attempts are exceptionally simple, a beginner’s approach.
Why? Well, my partner, who does most of our cooking, does not know how to bake. She is also exceptionally fond of yorkshire pudding. My (successful) belated christmas present to her was home made yorkshire pudding.
Of course, my mother baked, and, of course, I remember her baking fondly. Of course, the results were not the kind of thing found in teashops; she was my mum, not a professional chef. I could make her kind of cake too.
So I’ve put together my desire to add something to our diet, and make domestic use of my chemistry a’level skills, to produce simple edibles. So far, so good. I hope to produce more complex results, more suited to our taste, as the year progresses.
