The Chem32S ActiveX control draws chemical structures from .MOL, .RXN or .TGF files, like the ChemShow ActiveX control. It is designed to be used with Modgraph Consultants Ltd. servers, especially their Structure Server.
The control does not support any user input. It is designed for existing products which do this, such as MDL's ISIS/Draw. It can successfully communicate with applications which are not fully OLE compliant, via DDE.
Because the control can launch programs in this way, use DDE, and access any files on the user's computer, it is not safe for use on the web, so you will not find a demonstration here. To see a chemical drawing control in action, browse the ChemShow ActiveX control.
The control can communicate with Modgraph Consultants' Ltd. UNIX-hosted Structure Server, and be used to upload, download, search and analyse a large, chemically-intelligent database. It does not require an installation of Structure Server to operate offline.
The control runs successfully under Windows 95, 98, Millenium, NT 4.0 and 2000. It has not been tested under any version of CE, beta XP, or 64-bit Windows.
You can download a time-limited copy of this control to have a look round. This demonstration copy will run for a limited period only. The download is an executable; run it to unpack Setup.exe, which you should then run to install the control. The documentation is available online, here.
Contact Cyberspace Services Ltd. or Modgraph Consultants Ltd. if you are interested in using this control.
