people have asked
in the past
when i’ve suffered similar hells

i may have asked myself

why don’t you ask her
but i did
she said no

they ask
why don’t you ask her again
but i did
she said no

they say
she wants to be persuaded
i say
do you know stalking is a crime
and anyway
what do you want me to believe
that she’s lying
about a lack of interest
that’s she intentionally
allowing this intense pain
to continue

the pain is my problem
i solve it by moving on
that’s the only option
i’ve ever had
unfortunately

it would have been good
to have found someone
who wanted my love
but i’ve not
